Sendha Namak (Rock Salt) is the common name for the mineral halite or Land salt. It is mined from deposits in the ground.It does not contain additives such as iodine or anti-caking agents commonly found in table salt. In India, it is used mainly during fasts and known as Sendha Namak.
Sendha namak is mined from underground deposits of dried up lakes. It is unrefined, non iodized and contains no additional anti-caking agents. It is white, pink, or blue in color.
